Baltic Teleport allows you to make use of Baltic’s Internet Network without having a connection installed.

Teleport uses a standard system called Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) which allows you to connect to us via another Internet access service. Teleport’s benefits range from being able to have a static IP on any internet connection anywhere, by-passing another ISP’s NAT restrictions & port blocking and even escape censorship and monitoring.

Customers can use their own equipment (such as a computer, router etc) to connect to Baltic Teleport, or simply purchase our Teleport Box.

Existing Baltic Broadband customers can also use their Broadband package via another ISP (for example when travelling) and connect to their office VLAN (with a multi service port) and even elect to use their existing IP addresses anywhere in the world and on any ISP. Customers with multiple Teleport connections can even connect to each other, acting as a private MPLS network (Closed User Group).

Teleport starts at just £5 per month per user and comes with a simple monthly rolling contract.

Teleport Features

Fast Upload & Download Speeds

The Baltic Teleport Service provides up to 900Mbps (upload and download) of high performance internet thanks to good peering and our core network connectivity.

Fast to Connect

With our fast L2TP servers, Baltic Teleport connects within 1-2 seconds, ideal for applications that need always-on connectivity with fast re-connection on local internet failure.

Static Address For Life

Get the same public IP address each time you connect and for the life of your account, enabling whitelisting & lockdown rules etc, without the risk of your IP changing each time.

Use your Existing IP addressing

Existing Baltic customers can use an existing IP address (on their current broadband) on Teleport, enabling them to keep their IP’s while using another internet provider.

Connect to your office LAN

Existing Baltic customers who use a multi service port switch can elect to have Teleport connections arrive within their office network, as a dedicated VLAN on the switchport.

Add Address Blocks

Customers can purchase blocks of addresses to use allowing you to use public IP addresses on multiple devices on your network – great if you have various servers that need access from the outside.

Bypass Blocking

With Teleport, we leave all ports open and don’t use Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) that stops phones, CCTV and devices that need inbound connectivity in order to operate correctly.

No Censorship or Monitoring

We don’t inspect, censor log or monitor your traffic, as a believer in net neutrality, unlike many other providers who interfere with or block their customers internet traffic

Reverse DNS Available

Ask for Reverse DNS on your static IP address(s), ideal for running your own mail server, logging software and other services that require a PTR (pointer) record back to your IP.

Direct Access to Liverpool Film Network

Access the local Film Network (closed user group) that connects together many filming locations, exiting your traffic on private VLAN’s for connection to your own kit.

Connected Venues

Connect directly into any of our Connected Venues around the region, exiting your traffic at any chosen venue, ideal for connecting sound, lighting and control systems from outside.

Access to Cloud ports

Access your hosted machines, resources & private ports with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs); Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) using our Cloud Connect service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What speeds can I realistically get?

You can go as fast as you need with speeds up to 900Mbps (upload and download) per user.  Your speeds won’t be limited by us as they are terminated on our 100Gbps internet connection, but by the ISP that you are connecting through.

How many static IP addresses can I get?

We can supply any block of IP addressing up to a /22 (1024 addresses).  Please see our pricing for such here.

I don't understand what Teleport is or what it can do for me?

Teleport is designed for non-baltic customers who are with other ISP’s and face restrictions or lack of functionality with their current provider.

Restrictions could include the inability to provide static IP addresses, the blocking of ports (that stop your applications from working correctly, such as IOT devices, CCTV, security systems etc) and traffic management (speed) restrictions during the ISP’s peak times.

Teleport is designed to by-pass all of these by creating a “tunnel” through your current ISP, directly into the baltic network.  Sometimes called a VPN, your traffic is effectively “tunneled” into Baltic and away from the current ISP, helping to escape their network restrictions.

Teleport can be used with a simple computer application by connecting when required (or permanently) or by using a dedicated router, or buying a pre-configured router from us.

While other providers offer VPN services, Baltic Teleport works differently, by keeping internet traffic local within the UK, it uses Baltic’s peering agreements & IP addresses while providing excellent local support as standard.

Baltic Teleport is also unique as it can exit customers traffic into their office or even directly into closed local networks such as the Liverpool Film or Games network, features of which are not available with other providers.

Will I always get the same static IP address each time I connect?

Yes, when you sign up with us, we will issue you your IPv4 Address.  Each time you connect, you will use the same IP address, which won’t change, for the life of the account with us.

Do I have to use Teleport via a computer or can I setup a router to route everything?

Customers are encouraged to use their own router for long term usage or purchase the Teleport Box.  You can setup your router so it can route all of your internet traffic, or just some of it through Teleport.  If you need help with this, our team are on hand to help.

I'm currently a Baltic customer, can I really use my current IP address allocation on Teleport?

Yes this is possible.  Once the account holder provides permission, we are able to allocate any existing IP blocks to customers for use on Teleport.

What Our Customers Are Saying

We use Baltic's Teleport service to escape our ISP's restrictions who appear to block certain ports that we need for streaming and machine to machine connectivity. We're also unable to get a static IP address and face continual problems with Carrier Grade NAT, Teleport let's us by-pass all of these with ease.

Matthew JohnsonLocal Streaming Provider

We provide local building sites, empty properties and high value homes with 24hr monitored CCTV. We use 4G at the sites, which can be questionable anyway in terms of reliability, however one feature we've always wished for is a static IP address for our cameras. With Baltic Teleport, I'm able to plug it directly into the 4G connection and provide my camera systems with as many public static IP addresses that they need and not have to worry about being blocked by firewalls or the usual traffic management done by the mobile operators.
