Baltic Serves over 4,000 people free WIFI at Sound City 2019

Baltic Triangle using our Events Internet Service, giving crowds access to an unlimited, fast and reliable WIFI that many used to upload content to social media platforms, sharing their experiences while staying connected throughout the full 3 day event, many people also setup live video streams to their Facebook or other social platform to document the huge talent on display throughout sound city” “We also setup a dedicated streaming service so that artists could stream their performance live across multiple platforms, providing a 500Mbps connection solely for this usage to ensure top quality broadcasts, fed by fibre optic cabling directly from the heart of our network” “Our federated WIFI system also showed it’s true ability as the same WIFI name was accessible across multiple retailers without any additional login, our “login once” concept (which is a simple page to agree terms of the service and valid for the 3 days) allows crowds to “roam” across multiple music venues, shops and other retailers while staying connected without interruption”, in total, with this and the both stages,we delivered a data usage of over 24Tb to the festival” In addition to the free WIFI, Baltic also supplied a separate secure WIFI for retailers and concession stand’s so that they could connect their till systems, credit card machines, CCTV and ticketing systems for Sound City themselves as well as enabling the sound production company Total control Sound to connect various back office systems.  As typical for every network that Baltic designs, it was able to prioritise key traffic during his period, for example credit card transactions (using our direct links to merchant clearing banks) and back office ticketing systems to ensure fast lane access to key services to make the festival function. Other events that Baltic have supplied Temporary/Event Internet for include Cream, Positive Vibrations, the BBC, Threshold Festival and also for the Liverpool Giants that saw a crowds of over 1.3M people visit Liverpool over a four day period.]]>
