Opening in April 1905, Liverpool Olympia was designed as a purpose-built indoor circus and variety theatre by architect Frank Matcham. The venue enjoys a rich history within the performing arts, hosting a variety of theatre and music productions and even housing a cinema and a bingo hall over it’s 115 year life span. (And yes, the Beatles hit the stage several times in the 1960s!).

In 1990, the current owners purchased the building and brought it back to life after several years of closure, and it has been in the family ever since. It now holds a wide range of events including live music, sports and comedy, as well as providing the backdrop to some of your favourite TV shows, appearing in productions such as Peaky Blinders (BBC) and Tin Star (Sky Atlantic).

The Liverpool Olympia is a pre-installed location with our Temporary Internet that is ready to switch-on within minutes, with speeds up to 10Gbps and with various technical configurations available according to your needs.

Frequently Ask Questions

Are there any data limits applied?

No, we don’t impose any data limits on any services.  In addition to that, we guarantee the speeds for the duration of each booking.

Is the speed contended or upload different from the download?

No, there is no contention (sharing) of the connection at any point.  The speed that we offer is guaranteed for the duration of the booking.  Upload and download speeds are the same (synchronous). You are effectively renting a “leased line” for a period of time.

Is there a lengthy setup time and or lots of forms and paperwork to complete?

No, simply start your booking by pressing the “book now” button on the package that you are interested in, it should take around 10 minutes to complete the booking form.

Once you have pressed submit and your payment has cleared, your service will be fully booked and ready to use (if it’s for the same day) or for when you need it.

What is the booking fee for?

The booking fee is chargeable per booking made and covers our platform fee’s for taking payment and the real-time switch-on of the service at the required venue.

If you are booking across multiple days/weeks, you will pay one booking fee only.  If you cancel your booking at any time, the booking fee is non-refundable.

Is it possible to cancel a booking ?

Yes, once you have made a booking, you can cancel up to 48 hours before and you will be refunded your package cost in full, however without your booking fee as that is non-refundable.

We are working on a confidential project, can you sign confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements?

Yes this is possible, however there will be additional charges to cover our legal costs.

What level of support will we have?

We will provide you with 24hr support that is available 365 days per year from our base within Liverpool City Centre. Once your booking is confirmed, you will be provided with our support details that will contain a dedicated telephone number and email address for our Network Operations Centre who will be on hand to assist you if required.

As part of any booking, we actively monitor your connection during your booking window and ensure that things are operating correctly for you.  When making a booking with us, it’s important to provide us with the on-site technical contact (OB team, organiser, producer, director of photography etc) so that we can keep in touch with you.

When does the service end?

The service is automatically disconnected 15 minutes after the booking has been completed.  For example, a 24 hour booking starting on your instructed day/time of Monday at 20:00hrs will end on Tuesday at 20:15hrs.

What payments do you accept?

We accept Accept all major debit and credit cards from customers these include Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express and Discover.

What is Dry Hire?

Dry hire means that we provide internet only with your booking, i.e we don’t supply an on-site Engineer to help you setup your equipment and stay throughout your booking.

You will however have 24/7 access to our support line and email if you have any support issues.  that said, we do offer an on-site Engineer starting from £350+VAT per day.

What are Layer 2 Links?

They are point to point links that are a direct network connection between supported locations that can be used for a variety of uses.  Once live, it works like a network cable between the chosen venues, offering customers the ability to run their own network on a layer 2 basis. A Layer 2 link is ideal for customers running events, broadcasts etc across multiple venues and would like them linked together. Note : There is no internet connection provided with this service.

Can we run VPN’s over the connection?

Yes, there are no restrictions in place to run VPNs or anything similar of that nature

What type of presentation is available on the ports

We support both copper or fibre.  Copper can be ideal for speeds up to 1Gbps and is a typical RJ45 port provided in a rack within the venue. POE (power over ethernet) can also be provided free of charge, normally available as 24v (passive POE), 48V (POE+) and 54v. Fibre is used for speeds from 1Gbps to 10Gbps and is normally delivered using single mode fibre. We can provide copper and fibre cables that will connect from the customer service point to your equipment if required, for a small extra fee.

Are you available to supply on-site support?

Yes, we can provide on-site engineering support (using qualified engineers, registered with the Institute of Engineering and Technology) from £350 per day.

While at the event, we require connectivity outdoors or at another premises for a short duration, can you offer anything for this?

Yes, we also offer solutions from a portable connectivity backpack (that you take to your location) to a flight case style rack (for large events), all can be hired on a daily/weekly basis. All solutions can also be connected back to your venue (as a Layer 2 service), so you can extend your local network at the venue into the remote location easily. What Our Customers Are Saying

Baltic's installation of the 10Gbps fibre line into our co-working space has helped us transform our operation. Our residents can now access the internet at blazingly fast speeds.

Chris Witterick, Launch22

We are very pleased with the service provided by Baltic Broadband. They understood our requirements and saw how we struggled on using 5G for your office which was proven to be unreliable. We’ve now got 350Mbps upload and download and it was installed within 10 working days, which will help transform our business.

Rob WycherleyMobius

"Baltic's installation of a wireless connection into our Liverpool City Centre offices has provided us with a much more reliable, stable and faster service than with our previous provider who was more expensive. With our new Baltic connection, I can link our studio's software to remote post-production studios at lightning speed and it's consistent, and so far so good, we are really happy with Baltic Broadband!"

Sam AugusteOnomatopoeia Post

Moving into a BBEB was a wise choice for our charity, we were able to get up and running the same day (due to an urgent office relocation) and with fast speeds coupled with a brilliant service from Baltic Broadband!

Lisa, Williams, Hope & Will Ltd

Baltic installed a new fast 1Gbps connection into our new office within days complete with an internal WiFi system for internal distribution.

Tom Espin, Castore

Baltic's pre-enabled building allowed us to go live with our call centre within the same day we moved in, and at very high speeds, unlike the competition that quoted 90 working days!

Mark Jones, Ruby Debt Solutions Limited

Our existing provider were flummoxed as to why we are getting such regular severe dropouts that affected our call centre one weekend. Baltic went above and beyond the call of duty to work with us in providing a fast and reliable solution within just 6 hours, we owe you a pint guys!

Roger Jonas, Signature Living(Customer let down by existing provider and is now a permanent customer of Baltic)

Having had multiple power failures, issues with keeping our server room cool and grappling with the growing high costs of running an on-premise server room, we finally gave in and moved everything into Baltic's Data Centres. We're now spending less time running things, we've created more office space for our staff (now the server room as gone) while our servers are only a 10 min walk away from us.

AnonymousLocal Games Content Creator

Just to say thank you to Baltic who worked with us to get the Emergency Internet up and running during a street level power outage that lasted over a week. Their efforts allow us to keep streaming our live performances to the world during the 2021 lock-down

Paul Jones, Cavern Club

Baltic provide a number of 10Gbps leased lines that connect our various offices together securely while providing our home workers with high speeds that connects to our platform within Baltic's Data Centres, allowing us to take a hands-off, centralised approach to our IT infrastructure and at costs lower than running it ourselves.

AnonymousLCR Based Games Company

Thank you very much for setting up the connection to our offices on Church Street so quickly, I'm hearing good things from our office so far!

Anthony Osborne, Liverpool Bid Company

Our existing internet provider (BT) went off-line leaving us unable to take credit card payments or use any of our cloud based systems for days. Baltic's Emergency internet got us back on-line within 4 hours and unbelievably, at faster speeds than with BT!
