As an Electrician/Data Installations Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

  • Installing structured cabling throughout clients buildings (typically with the installation of antennas on rooftops, mounting brackets and routers within a comms rack)
  • The installation of network switches, radio links, wireless access points and power cabling (with termination)
  • Building kit ready for a clients job (antenna’s, mounts, cables, routers)
  • Creating/updating documentation of our client installations
  • Conducting a roof-top line of sight survey for radio links
  • Brainstorming with fellow Engineers to come up with new ideas for making Baltic Broadband ever better!

This Job might be for you if:

Are confident working at heights, have experience working with ladders with safety equipment (installations and maintenance are at residential properties & commercial premises) and have no issue with working outdoors for long periods, quite often working alone (Essential Requirement).

You have experience installing cabling through buildings, mounting aerials, poles and brackets. (Essential Requirement).

You own your own set of basic hand tools (Essential Requirement).

You hold a valid UK driving licence (that has no more than 6 points on it) and don’t mind being on a callout rota for emergencies (Essential Requirement).

You have a willingness to learn new things and embrace technologies used within the company which is complemented by the ability to complete tasks under minimal supervision.

You pay attention to the details. As far as you’re concerned, anything worth doing is worth doing right, every single time. You stay focused, and nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.

You think on your feet. You like learning new things and you can learn quickly. When things change, you know how to roll with the punches.

You communicate clearly. You write well. You speak eloquently. You can explain just about anything to anyone and you’re comfortable communicating in writing and on the phone as well as having excellent documentation skills.

You are super organised, tidy, motivated, articulate, and proactive, with strong attention to detail with good knowledge on risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on Health and Safety practices.(Essential Requirement).

You have commercial awareness, can deliver high quality work with little supervision and you thrive on providing outstanding customer service and a positive support experience.

You are motivated and driven and can work independently. You volunteer for new challenges without waiting to be asked.

Ideally, you’ll be already an Electrician, Data Engineer, Internet/Radio Engineer or have extensive experience with all or some of those roles.

Extra Awesome (not essential)

  • Have experience with Fixed Wireless Access/4G/5G Mobile Systems and Radio Access Networks (RAN)
  • Previous experience working for other telecommunication companies or satellite based installers would be advantageous but not essential
  • Have experience with fibre/splicing
  • You have the C1 part of your driving license
  • You have good Knowledge of using PC/Laptop Software and a good understanding of TCP/IP networking

Other Things

You’d be based out of our offices in Liverpool City Centre with the job being primarily field based and will involve traveling locally mostly but sometimes nationwide.

Company Van will be provided.

As the job role is completely customer facing, you will be required to present a friendly, helpful, positive attitude at all times. You will also be required to dress appropriately, and will be provided with company branded attire.

Training will be provided where required but some understanding of the Industry will also be required. All Plant and equipment will also be provided. You will be required to drive our Cherry Picker.

To land this gig, you’ll need to have experience with most of the above and show that you can perform well in this very broad and busy role as you will be working in a small but fun and friendly local Liverpool business whereby it’s all hands to the pumps as we expand into the next chapter of our business
