High performance network connectivity to Cloud Service Providers

Our Cloud Connect service provides high performance dedicated network connectivity to Cloud Service Providers (CSPs); Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). It offers seamless connectivity allowing for the natural extension of your private network into the virtual network of your chosen CSP.

Accessing cloud applications via the public Internet is commonly associated with potential application-affecting latency, throughput, security and general performance inconsistencies.

Baltic’s Cloud Connect service bypasses the public Internet, avoiding the associated performance issues this can cause. It can also enable smart businesses to thrive in the digital age, and help them become digital-first.

How Cloud Connect works

Cloud Connect is delivered as a Virtual Connection (VC) to your chosen Cloud Service Provider (CSP). Multiple VCs can be provisioned at the same time, each for different CSPs, delivered straight to your office or within our Co-Location space.

Customers can elect for a multi-service switch to be installed, providing multiple services such as Internet Access, Point to Point Layer 2 services and Cloud Connect on a single connection, each one presented on different physical ports for the customers convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Cloud Connect?

Cloud Connect is a direct, secure connection between your network and your cloud service provider. It offers easy, affordable access to applications and resources without the need for physical infrastructure or hardware.

Our Cloud Connect service provides high-performance network connectivity to multiple major Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

What is a Cloud Service Provider?

Cloud Service Providers deliver computing services including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics and intelligence – over the Internet. This allows companies to store sensitive data in a secure location and offer flexible access that allows employees to communicate and collaborate online.

What are the capabilities of Cloud Connect?

Cloud Connect gives you access to an ecosystem that connects you to Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

What are your cloud-to-cloud connectivity options?

If you use multiple cloud service providers – as many businesses now do – your data can sometimes be routed in a roundabout manner as it goes between the two providers and your premises. This ‘hairpinning’ takes longer when the distances between cloud service providers and your business are greater. The result is higher levels of latency and sub-optimal performance, affecting your day-to-day operations and your employees’ experience.

The solution is to build cloud-to-cloud connectivity (such as AWS to Azure, for example) into your network infrastructure, giving your data a direct route to your cloud service providers, wherever and whomever they are.  This will reduce latency, speed up traffic flow and help your business to run more smoothly. It also offers greater security, since your traffic is transmitted privately, and with reduced costs thanks to fewer gateway fees.

How can businesses benefit from storage service providers?

Who can benefit from Cloud Connect?

Cloud Connect can transform the way any business works. Secure, easy-to-manage cloud connections have become a mainstay for modern businesses that want to grow – especially those who require reliability in order to provide large numbers of customers with complex solutions, such as service providers.

Enterprise
For big businesses, collaborating across phone, email and instant messenger can be tough, especially when it comes to managing diverse teams spread across a number of sites. That’s why cloud-hosted team collaboration apps, such as Microsoft Teams are becoming increasingly popular. They eliminate device and platform interoperability problems while allowing users to share files and ideas in real-time. A secure, direct connection to the public cloud makes this ability to work across apps even more powerful, while providing additionally security and compliancy benefits for industries who need them, such as financial services.

SMEs
For many small and medium-sized businesses, scaling up and growing their operations are usually front of mind. This is where Cloud Connect can help. It lets you speed up your cloud connectivity plans. Once installed, connections can be scaled rapidly, as there’s no need for added physical infrastructure, or time spent waiting around for an engineer.

What’s the importance of cloud service providers for your business?

Cloud service providers give you a remarkably convenient way to group together your computing services, with everything your employees need at the click of a button. They can access assets like documents, databases and software accounts from anywhere in the world, which is an obvious  necessity as more and more people work remotely. The cloud also makes it easier for colleagues to work together, collaborating on documents in real-time, rather than sharing endless versions over email. It’s also a great source of instant computer power and a wide range of applications that can be scaled up and down to meet your business needs.

As well as helping your business to become more efficient, cloud connect provides greater security. One of the reasons for this is that connecting to your cloud service provider over a private connection reduces the risks of using the public internet. This is further complemented by the provider’s security measures saving your business from having to invest in such precautions.

Using a cloud service provider can also save your business money in other ways: you can fine-tune your bandwidth options and software subscriptions to meet your changing needs.
